America’s Milestone
Ridgefield Commemorates America at 250 (RCA250) is proud to mark the nation’s 250th anniversary with a season of community celebrations, exhibitions, and cultural programming presented in partnership with Ridgefield’s arts and cultural organizations, local businesses, and community groups. As Connecticut’s first designated Cultural District, Ridgefield offers a unique setting for this once-in-a-generation milestone.
Summer festivities launch Memorial Day weekend with the Memorial Day Parade and culminate with Ridgefield’s signature America 250 events: the Stars Spangled Soirée on July 3 and Party in the Park! on July 4 in Ballard Park.

Faces from the Past: Art Exhibit & Lecture
John the Ridgefield Historical Society for a unique event exploring six early-19th-century paintings open a window onto a Ridgefield family whose Revolutionary past has remained untold for over two centuries.

America 250 Community Conversations: The Declaration at 250: Understanding “Life, Liberty, and The Pursuit of Happiness” in 2026
America250 Community Conversations are facilitated discussions led by Ridgefield Library and Keeler Tavern Museum & History Center staff that focus on increasing familiarity and interaction with the Declaration of Independence. These discussions encourage participants to share, listen and learn together, with no prior knowledge about the Declaration or its historical context needed.

The Remembrance Ball
As we enter the year of America’s 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, Ridgefield’s Cannon Ridge Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, is honored to invite you to the Remembrance Ball at the historic Lounsbury House.

Ridgefield CT Passport Experience
After a fun and successful summer in 2025, the Ridgefield Passport Adventure will return Memorial Day weekend 2026! Explore Ridgefield’s history with a hands-on scavenger hunt that guides you through 14 local landmarks — a fun and educational experience for all ages.

Stars Spangled Soirée
Kick off he nation’s 250th Independence celebration at the Stars Spangled Soirée, a lively summer evening at the Lounsbury House featuring lite bites, beer and wine, and Ridgefield’s winning RCA250 signature cocktail as the featured drink of the night.
Enjoy a DJ, and a vibrant atmosphere as we gather to celebrate summer, community, and the spirit of independence.

Party in the Park!
Join us on July 4, 2026, in Ballard Park for a festive celebration of our nation’s 250th anniversary! Bring family and friends for a memorable day filled with food, community, and commemoration.
